A simulation of what a meteorite collision might look like. I added a soundtrack rather than have the Japenese, as in the original. The song is "Casino" from the soundtrack to Run Lola Run.

I believe the other versions of this video have been removed, however there were once versions with English and Japanese voice-overs on YouTube.

Anyone else? finds these model incredibly stupid? I'm o scientist and maybe that's why but I can't see how Lava can spread out through the entire planet. Like, where it all come from and I understand it evaporating some water but with the miles of water both across and below there's more for the lava to fill than the lava that could possibly come from this...Unknown origin.

that wasent a meteorite that was an object as big as the moon at that kindof velocity with the weight and motion of the object portraid i would think the damage level would be a lot more severe nothing would survive and the earth itself would completely shatter the only thing that would be cool is? to wait 200 million years to see what kind of life would re evolve that's to say the earths atmosphere was not destroyed completely
